Thursday PM

Pauline and I visited Dad again around 9pm tonight. He was much more peaceful due to the propofol, but it was necessary he be resedated. He has been transferred from the SICU team to the MICU (Medicine) team this afternoon, which makes sense as they're usually the ones who take cases like Dad. After some time wasted getting him reintubated, he had a CT scan and an ultrasound of his kidneys. Pauline and I met with the new medicine resident and went to look at the images in radiology with him. The CT showed Dad's hemorrhage as being unchanged, and the ultrasound showed no renal artery stenosis, a possible cause of his unexplained refractory hypertension. All in all, today was a hard day as Dad wouldn't wake up from the sedation, and nobody knows why. We're all hoping that with a few more days rest and recovery he'll be more aware of his surroundings.
